How to Protect Your Car From Summer Heat?

If you're in Serbia for the summer, you might not be aware of the massive heat waves that come and go. Sometimes the temperature might exceed 40C, and you should be aware of what to do with your car on those days, because the interior of a car can be 15C hotter than the exterior and the environment you're in. Here's a few tips on what to do:

Find a parking place in the shade

The first thing you need to do is park in the shade. Not only will you decrease the car's temperature, you will also protect the car's interior and tires, since they are sensitive to sun rays and heat.
On the other hand, if you don't have a choice and have to park your car in the sun, its necessary to put protective foil on it.

If you can, leave windows partially open

This could help your car very much. Of course, you can do this only in guarded parking spaces and if your sure it won't rain.

Air ventilation is a must

When you're working day is over and when you go home, don't forget the importance of air ventilation in cars. Some of the things you might do is wait for the car  too cool of a bit before you start driving, put a big towel on your seat and try not to touch the exterior of the car too much, except the locks, since they are most likely to be very very hot.

Avoid long trips during the day

If you have to drive by day, turn on air conditioning or open the car windows. Try not to drive anywhere without a bottle of water and sunglasses. If you're going on a longer trip, keep in mind that making more shorter breaks instead of less but longer ones is better, and that it's better to drive in the morning and nighttime due to the hot weather. Keep in mind also that the temperature doesn't only affect people but cars and asphalt too, so tires differently act on different surfaces, therefore extra caution while driving is necessary.
